Southbank 2: Hand Drawn Representations

I love the fact that Hand Drawn Representations are still at the fore for major projects around the world.  Southbank 2, a major extension of the already hugely successful Southbank Parklands in Brisbane, is an excellent example of this.  I particularly love how the artist has framed each board.  They project a fun and happy proposal!?! Do you agree?

Reg Mombassa

Reg Mombassa, "White Shed near Airport"

Reg Mombassa (of MAMBO fame) continues to inspire me since I was alot younger. I admire his cartoonish way of portraying everyday life and see his influence in my approach to artistic representations in my own work.

Reg Mombassa, "White House, Tasmania"

This painting reminds me of the house I grew up in in Australia.

Reg Mombassa, "Rough Barked Apple Tree"

I find that Reg's representation of the life around us has a light heartedness, happy and almost childlike quality.  Very Aussie and very cool.  Top stuff!

Gotye

A music video for Gotye's "Hearts a Mess' and "Eye's Wide Open".  I am loving his visual approach to his music.  Quirky, beautiful and just a little bit creepy.
